Hello, I'm Ria, founder of House of Lanyards.

By day, I work as a Community Mental Health Nurse. Like many healthcare professionals, I wear a lanyard every day. Over the years, I became frustrated with the limited choice of safety breakaway lanyards available. Most were plain, uncomfortable, or lacked the personality and quality I was looking for.

As someone who values both safety and creativity, I decided to create my own.

What began as a personal project quickly attracted attention from colleagues, friends and fellow professionals who wanted lanyards that were not only safe and practical, but also reflected their personality. Before long, House of Lanyards was born.

Today, I handcraft every lanyard with the same care, attention to detail and commitment to quality that inspired the very first design.

Every lanyard is handmade to order in the UK using carefully selected fabrics and quality components. Stress points are double stitched for durability, ensuring your lanyard is built to withstand the demands of everyday use.

Unlike many mass-produced lanyards made from heat-cut polyester or nylon, my fabric lanyards have soft sewn edges that are gentle on clothing and comfortable to wear. They won't snag delicate fabrics, pull loose threads or catch on knitwear in the way cheaper heat-cut lanyards often can, helping to protect your uniforms, scrubs and everyday clothing.

Unlike mass-produced alternatives, each lanyard is individually made with attention to comfort, quality and longevity.

My breakaway safety lanyards are available with 1, 2, 3 or 5-point breakaway options, helping to reduce the risk of injury should a lanyard become caught, grabbed or pulled.

As a NHS Mental Health Nurse, I understand the importance of workplace safety and have designed these lanyards with the needs of healthcare professionals, teachers, security staff and other frontline workers in mind.
